Evennett chases Ofgem again

Ofgem posted an update on their website yesterday (2 September), advising that there has been a further delay in making a final decision with regards to their investigations into the Power Cuts that affected Bexley and Dartford so badly in July last year. The decision was expected at the end of August, but the date has now been moved to mid October.

Mr Evennett has pursued the matter again with Ofgem on behalf of constituents, and urged them to publish their findings as soon as possible.

Larner Road Fun Day

David Evennett MP was the special guest at the Larner Road Fun Day held on Saturday 21 August on the green in the centre of the Erith estate.

Overhauling the Licensing Act

The Coalition Government is currently consulting on new proposals to address the problems caused by Labour’s 24-hour drinking laws.

These include plans to crack down on problem premises and give more powers to local communities.

It is estimated that around one million violent crimes were alcohol-related last year and with the cost of crime and disorder associated with alcohol as much as £13billion. Continue reading
