David used an adjournment debate in the House of Commons on Tuesday 20 October to outline his and constituents concerns about the lack of security at the Dartford Creek site, the lack of an adequate contingency plan, the poor level of assistance offered by EDF to vulnerable customers, the total lack of back up power for residents in Slade Green and Crayford, and the unfair system of goodwill payments. He also raised concerns that the incident on Monday 20 July had not yet been ruled as exceptional by the regulator, Ofgem.

South London Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs Queen Mary’s Hospital, has announced that the accident and emergency department at Queen Mary’s Hospital will temporarily close overnight from Wednesday 9 September. From this date, ambulances on emergency calls will not take patients to Queen Mary’s Hospital between 8pm and 8am. Click on the headline to find out more.
David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, has written to the Secretary of State for Health, Alan Johnson MP, following his decision to endorse the Independent Reconfiguration Panel’s recommendations that accident and emergency and paediatric inpatient services at Queen Mary’s Hospital should close.
David Evennett, MP for Bexleyheath and Crayford, has backed local residents’ campaign against Tesco’s new proposals for the former Woolwich Headquarters in Bexleyheath. Mr Evennett joined Barnehurst ward councillor Simon Windle, Colyers ward councillor David Hurt and local campaigners outside the building on Saturday morning (23 March) to protest during the public exhibition of the new plans. After the protest, Mr Evennett attended the exhibition and spoke with local residents about their concerns.
